Otology

Otological projects focus on different aspects of middle ear surgery and the genetic causes of otosclerosis. Also some projects are related to implantable hearing devices: bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA), middle ear implants (MEI) and cochlear implants (CI). The work on cochlear implants is conducted in close co-operation with CIA (Cochlear Implants Amsterdam), a joined implantation team of VUmc and AMC.
